More Artist Info
A born and bred Texan, Felipe "Phylup" Garcia is a multidisciplinary artist currently living and working in the Greater Houston area. Garcia works on various mediums including photography, digital art, videography, mixed media painting, and even experimental music. Having developed an early passion for travel from family trips around the country during his youth, Garcia was introduced to his next passion along the way: photography. From using Kodak Fun-Saver disposable cameras as a self-taught kid to his current Sony mirrorless gear, his mission has always been the same. To explore the world around us and discover the beauty within the little details of life that most people overlook more than ever during these times. From despair to triumph, helplessness to hope, you are unequivocally transported to that specific moment in time and space captured through his lens.
In 2019, Garcia was featured in the Texas Photographic Society 28: International Competition publication selected by Arthur Meyerson and part of the subsequent traveling exhibit shown at the Art League of Baytown in Baytown, Texas, The Center for Contemporary Arts in Abilene, Texas, and finally Phillip Goff Gallery at Odessa College in Odessa, Texas.
